Thomas G. Hodel received his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota. While in the Chief Counsel's Office of the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Hodel worked three years in the Chicago Regional Office and three years in the Denver District Office and advanced to senior trial attorney. He completed special IRS training, including the collection, criminal tax, and trial attorney programs.

     In private practice since 1981, Mr. Hodel is licensed in Colorado and Minnesota and before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Claims Court, Federal District Court in Colorado, United States Court of Appeals-Tenth Judicial Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His articles concerning civil tax cases and changes in tax laws have been published in The Colorado Lawyer. In addition, Mr. Hodel is a frequent lecturer on various topics related to tax. He was President (1993) of the Greater Denver Tax Counsel's Association and currently is a member of the First Judicial District and Colorado Bar Associations, State Bar of Minnesota and Centennial Estate Planning Council.

     Mr. Hodel's practice includes representation before the IRS (all aspects) , probate and tax litigation (all courts) , corporations, partnerships, estate planning, real estate and elder law.  Mr. Hodel has been qualified as an expert witness in tax matters in the District Courts for Jefferson and Douglas Counties, Colorado, and the City and County of Denver.
